Profitable Website Promotion Should Begin Alongside Search Engine Optimization

We’d all like to just do link building to promote our website because frankly, it’s easier. But if you haven’t done a great job of SEO on your website, most of your link building will be a waste of time. The keyword research is key to a successful website marketing campaign because it is the basis of your website search engine optimization.

Doing SEO by hand is not only annoying but horribly time consuming. Yet there are people out there who still do it that way. Some of the these people are even proud of it. My time is worth too much to be doing everything manually.

There is SEO software and SEO tools for linkbuilding, running reports, spying on competitors, doing keyword research, hunting up new niches to dominate and all the other things you need to do to make a real living from Internet marketing and website marketing. Doing it manually will eventually make you an expert at search engine optimization. I’d rather be an expert at making money.

Now, I’m going to assume you plan to take the sensible approach and keep your manual labor to a minimum. So you need to think about what SEO software you want to use.

So what should you consider when looking for SEO software?

* How complete a program do you want? Are you the “hit a homerun” person or do you value “steady base hits?”

* How much do you want to spend? If you get a month to month subscription, if it doesn’t seem to work out, you’re not stuck with it.

* And of course, we need to decide whether it’s worth it to own the software or switch to the whole cloud computing concept and use something that is strictly online. It all depends on your personality and what you’re comfortable with.

I actually use several SEO software packages. Depending on where I am and what I’m doing, I may use Comment Hut or Lotus Jump to leave comments on forums, Hub pages, Squidoo pages, blogs or articles. I subscribe to one and own the other. It’s a convenience thing. It shouldn’t surprise you that I also have two different SEO tools for doing organic search engine optimization. One of them is indispensible for running reports on my client’s websites. But there are tools on the other that can’t be beat for what they do.

There’s no such thing as an SEO tool that can do everything better than anything else. It doesn’t exist. Don’t get me wrong. While there are some questionable systems out there, the majority of the software packages were developed by guys who couldn’t find the tool they needed to automate what they were doing for search engine optimization or linkbuilding and hired someone to make the tool for them.

SEO tool reviews – 2 worth considering…

Two SEO software packages that are a picture of contrasts (so they make good partner software) are IBP 11.5 and Raven SEO Tools. You can read my reviews of these software packages (and more) SEO tools to get a feel for what I mean.

Visit my website marketing site to read more reviews. My site is only software reviews and no sales pitches or comeons. Just helpful information.
